Space Cadet Dave Brough
DAVE BROUGH
RBrough
Only another Space Cadet could describe Dave Brough (the "R" in "RBrough" comes from his wife, Robin) as a solid, well-grounded competitor. The most intuitive of the Space Cadets, RBrough will appear amazingly prescient on one hand and oddly off-base on the next. Dave's...erratic...bidding does not carry over to his card play. We are talking about a devastating defender and a very capable Declarer!

An elegant slambidding sequence by E-W here. 4NT was Key Card Blackwood with Hearts as trumps. 5C (0 or 3) pinpointed the missing Key Card (in this case, the H-K). 5D- asked for the trump , which 5H- would have denied. 5S- showed the Heart Queen while cuebidding the Spade Ace (in case Wintaka was dreaming of SEVEN Hearts). Without such ambitions, Wintaka stopped in the 75% 6H- contract. And, lo and behold, it made !
